It’s going to be hard to enact progressive legislation until we amend the Constitution to reverse Citizens United and McCutcheon–two decisions that have opened the floodgates to campaign spending. A classic example it the $8 million being spent by the beverage industry to defeat the Bottle Bill Update. To restore democracy of, by and for the people, we must amend the COnstitution to establish that corporations are not people and money is not speech.
