Progressive Worcester Organizing Meeting

Worcester Progressives Unite
(text from Worcester Telegram "City Hall Notebook")
Local business, labor and community leaders have formed a group that will be working toward creating a more progressive Worcester.
The group, which calls itself Progressive Worcester, was formed in response to the growth of a conservative movement in Worcester and the subsequent increase in racial tensions, according to Dante Comparetto, one of the group's organizers.
He said Progressive Worcester is a chapter of Progressive Massachusetts, which is a statewide, diverse grass-roots organization that is mobilizing around progressive issues.
"Progressive Worcester will organize around local progressive issues and help elect progressive candidates for local office," Mr. Comparetto said.
The group will have its inaugural meeting at 6 p.m. March 23 at the Carpenters Hall, 29 Endicott St., to begin  deliberations on deciding its first issues-based campaign for Worcester.
The meeting is open to the public, and dinner will be served.
