March 18 Vigil at the Boston ICE Detention Center

Did you know there is an ICE detention center in downtown Boston?

An Interfaith Prayer Vigil at the ICE Detention Center in downtown Boston will be held on Sunday. Organized by several local faith leaders, including Jim Mitulski of the Congregational Curch of Neeham. You can leave Needham at 1 p.m. and be back by 4:30 p.m.- and you won't forget it soon.

At these vigils, we gather to show our support of and solidarity with those detained by ICE in Boston, to remind them that they are not forgotten. At the same time, we bear witness to the violence that ICE perpetuates: separating families, removing parents in front of their children’s eyes, detaining people without access to the basic legal services they need to support themselves, and countless other atrocities. And we recommit ourselves to taking meaningful action for justice.

Please join Progressive Needham and other activists on Sunday for a Vigil across the way from the facility to call attention to the facility and the unconscionable actions of ICE, such as this front page article in the Globe covering a family traumatized by ICE.

Carpools will be leaving Needham at 1:00 PM from the Congregational Church Parking Lot:
