DESCRIPTION:Tuesday\, 8/18 @ 11 am\, State House: “Child Care Can’t Wait” Rally\nSince the beginning of the FY27 budget season\, SEIU 509 has been advocating for increased funding to ensure that Family Child Care providers receive a reimbursement rate increase for childcare subsidies this year. \nSince Family Child Care Providers don’t have a traditional wage structure\, reimbursement rates for Child Care Financial Assistance are central to bargaining\, and SEIU 509 is at the table right now for a new three-year contract following two years of rate increases at or below 1%. \nSo far\, EEC has not made an offer on rates. With $0 currently appropriated for rate increases\, family child care providers could be on track for a 0% increase. \nRSVP here.
