DESCRIPTION:Make Polluters Pay Community Mixer and Spotlight Training\n\nJoin the Make Polluters Pay campaign for a fun and lively mixer. Meet fellow climate activists\, neighbors and community members to find out how you can get involved in the campaign. It’s fall so expect: Light refreshments\, snacks\, and good music indoors. After the mixer there will be a spotlight training for those interested in building skills needed to make the campaign effective. \nThe Mixer goes from 5:00-6:30 PM\, the training from 6:30-8 PM. \nWhat is spotlighting? Also known as birddogging\, spotlighting is the practice of showing up at public events where elected officials are present\, to ask them on-the-record questions about your issue and create public accountability. Sound scary? It can be but this is a useful and essential tactic to build pressure on elected officials so come join in the fun! We’re hosting this training is to talk through the most intimidating parts of spotlighting and ensure you feel set-up for success! \nThis 90-minute training will review different types of spotlighting\, review video of previous spotlighting tactics to pick out what works and what doesn’t\, and then we’ll get into some role play. This is a great training for all activists\, no matter your priority issue\, so please spread the word! \nThis training will be hybrid; everyone who RSVPs will receive a Zoom link the morning of the training. \n\n\n\n\n\nDo you like this page

DESCRIPTION:Phone Bank for the No on 5 campaign\n\n\nWe can only win this campaign with your support! \nBacked by wealthy investors and CEOs\, the dark-money Massachusetts Opportunity Alliance (MOA) is backing Question 5: a reckless ballot initiative that would impose a strict ‘revenue cap’ on Massachusetts and slash funding for classrooms\, hospitals\, and first responders across the state. Question 5 would force repeated cuts to state and local public services; lead to layoffs for teachers\, nurses\, and firefighters; and make healthcare\, childcare and housing more expensive. It would give billions to the rich while the rest of us suffer from cuts\, and severely limit the state’s ability to recover from recessions. Wealthy investors put Question 5 on the ballot because they don’t need public services themselves.
