SUMMARY:From Moscow to MA: Reflections on Ordinary People Standing Up to Power
DESCRIPTION:From Moscow to MA: Reflections on Ordinary People Standing Up to Power\nPlease join True North Action Alliance Boston for our inaugural event welcoming Rebecca Riccio of the Boston Trainers Collective! \n\nRebecca Riccio is well known to many people in greater Boston as a social change educator\, social justice activist\, and safety lead and trainer for several of the city’s largest street actions since 2018. Her own training in the work of resistance began decades ago when she was a student in Moscow during the Cold War. Around the kitchen tables of political\, religious\, and artistic dissidents\, she learned how ordinary people can find the courage to stand up to power through the strength of their convictions\, communities\, and appreciation for the simple joys of everyday life. Rebecca will discuss how she taps into the wisdom shared in those Russian kitchens decades ago to make sense of what is happening in the U.S. today and help others build their resistance muscles.
