DESCRIPTION:GOOD TROUBLE LIVES ON: Framingham\, MA\, SUNDAY\, JULY 20!\nGood Trouble Lives On is a national day of nonviolent action to respond to the attacks posed on our civil and human rights by the Trump administration and to remind them that in America\, the power lies with the people. \nJuly 17\, the anniversary of Congressman John Lewis’s passing\, people are taking action across the country to defend our democracy and carry forward his legacy of Good Trouble. HOWEVER\, in Framingham\, we have had to schedule our event for SUNDAY\, JULY 20\, in order to have access to our favorite large open space! \nFrom voter suppression bills like the SAVE Act to the criminalization of protest\, the Trump administration is launching a full-scale attack on our civil and human rights. But we know the truth: in America\, the power lies with the people\, and we’re rising to prove it. \nThis is more than a protest; it’s a moral reckoning. A continuation of the movement Lewis helped lead\, and a new front in the struggle for freedom. \nWe will hear from speakers about John Lewis’ legacy and how we can live up to his teaching of “Good Trouble\, Necessary Trouble.” Organizations that are protecting and supporting our immigrant neighbors will be present to help us discover volunteer opportunities with them.

Please leave the spaces at the front of the house open for those with mobility challenges. Note: There is another nasty COVID strain out there! PLEASE TEST BEFORE YOU ATTEND! Yes\, even if you don’t have symptoms. Many of our members are compromised in some way and this is for the safety of them and all of us. Thank you! FYI this will happen rain or shine! We’re prepared to move inside the house if it’s too hot or it rains.
