Minnesota’s Resistance: Lessons For Massachusetts

April 29 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Minnesota’s Resistance: Lessons For Massachusetts

About this event

How did ordinary people in Minneapolis organize effectively to support their vulnerable neighbors and defeat the violent ICE invasion of their community?

How we can apply those lessons learned here in Massachusetts, and in other communities?

Join prizewinning PBS filmmaker Patrice O’Neill, the founder of the Not in Our Town movement, for a preview of selected clips from her forthcoming documentary Minnesota Neighbors: Not in Our Town, followed by a panel discussion with community organizers from the ACLU, MIRA Coalition, LUCE, Dunk the Vote and the Boston Trainers Collective.

The people of Minnesota provide a model for the whole nation, winning the JFK Library’s 2026 Profile in Courage Award for their courage and compassion, as they banded together to support vulnerable neighbors in their communities.

This film preview and panel discussion is organized by True North Action Alliance Boston, a joint chapter of Indivisible.org and Progressive Massachusetts

In-person only, with no live stream or recording.
This event is free but donations are appreciated.
Space is limited — Registration is required
