Massachusetts often ranks first in the nation for higher education and boasts many top universities, both public and private. Yet real challenges face the students, faculty, and staff who bring billions to the state economy and make Massachusetts the ‘most educated state in America,’ especially in the current federal landscape. Rising costs for tuition and housing, attacks on freedom of speech and academic inquiry, and an increasingly uncertain labor market put higher education at an inflection point. Join the Massachusetts Higher Education Table and student leaders across the Commonwealth August 22, from 2-4PM, for a nonpartisan candidate forum on these and other issues facing higher education today. The event will be held at a school in the Greater Boston Area, with hybrid options available.
