PM in the News: WBUR Morning Edition on Barney Frank and Progressives

Anthony Brooks, “Late Congressman Barney Frank’s new book argues progressives are partly responsible for Trump’s rise,” WBUR, October 5, 2026.

Unsurprisingly, some progressives push back on Frank’s critique. Jonathan Cohn, policy director for Progressive Massachusetts, said advocating for progressive change— even change that lots of people aren’t ready for — is necessary to move the needle.

“People want to push for the most that you can do,” Cohn said. “Not everything you ask for will happen on day one, but if there’s no regular pushing for doing more, we don’t even get anything at all.”
