Know Your Rights: Police, ICE & FBI Encounters
Join us for a “Know Your Rights” training, led by the National Lawyers Guild of Massachusetts. This training breaks down how to respond when law enforcement — police, ICE, FBI, and beyond — stop, question, or demand to search you.
This information matters more than ever. Organizers and activists are facing increased scrutiny and targeting, and knowing your rights — and how to exercise and preserve them — is one of the most concrete ways to protect yourself and your community.
This clinic makes sure you know your rights and how to use them calmly and confidently in the moment it matters most.
You’ll learn:
- What to say — and what not to say — during a stop
- Your rights around searches, ID requests, and detentions
- What to do if ICE, FBI, police, or other law enforcement show up at your door, workplace, or a public space
No one should have to learn their rights for the first time while they’re being exercised. Come prepared, and invite someone who needs this too.
